NNU hosts Autism Awareness Day

Northwest Nazarene University will hold its fourth annual Autism Awareness Day on Saturday, April 23 beginning at 12:30 p.m. at the Vail baseball field prior to the start of the game versus the Western Oregon Wolves. Admission is free for kids and $5 for adults. A portion of the proceeds will benefit A Social Place, Inc.

At 12:30 p.m., the NNU baseball team will honor those in attendance who have been touched by autism with a team meet and greet and participation in the first pitch. Those in attendance are requested to wear blue to support autism awareness during the game.

This event is part of the NNU Autism Awareness & Acceptance Weekend which is held Friday, April 22 through Saturday, April 23. The Friday event includes a fair for the NNU community at the Student Center from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Community agencies and NNU Departments will have booths providing autism education, support and volunteer opportunities.
