Homecoming 2014 has something for everyone
Northwest Nazarene University is gearing up for Homecoming & Family Weekend which will take place on November 6-8, 2014. Alumni, family, and community members are invited to partake in the homecoming festivities while reuniting with old friends and making new ones.
Special events for this year’s Homecoming & Family Weekend include tours of the new Leah Peterson Learning Commons and the burial of the Time Capsule. The Leah Peterson Learning Commons promises to be the next popular gathering place for the NNU community with study rooms, The Bean coffee shop, Information Technology, the Center of Innovation in Teaching and Learning, and much more. Come see what all the fuss is about for yourself on Friday during the tour. Last year during the centennial, a time capsule containing remnants of the past was opened. Join us this year as we bury a time capsule for future NNU generations to discover.
There are four opportunities to see the 2014 fall play, “The Boys Next Door”, throughout the weekend: one show Thursday and Friday, and two shows on Saturday. Directed by Rick Strader, the play will hold immense talent and have you captivated with the opening scene.
Throughout the weekend there will be opportunities for most academic departments to gather together for fellowship and to honor those who have achieved excellence in their field.
Don’t forget to gather with NNU Crusader fans of the past and present during the Homecoming men’s basketball game Friday night at 8:00pm. Come early to watch the coronation of the 2014 Homecoming Court at 7:00pm.
Listening to the talent of the NNU Music Department will be a great way to wrap up the weekend on Saturday night.
