Fellowship of Christian Athletes: building community across campus

Last Updated 2 November, 2015

Athletes and non-athletes—too often on colleges campuses there is a distinction between those who are on a sports team and those who are not. Each group tends to stick to their own whether because of shared interests or crazy schedules. However, at NNU, we value unity and community, and it is important not to let classifications like these split the student body, as unintentional as this may be.

FCA convenes twice a month for an hour at a time, with each meeting beginning with a game to get everybody acquainted and relaxed. Then there is a time for fellowship and Bible study. Also, once a month a guest speaker is brought in to share a message or give a testimony. All in all, the NNU chapter of FCA provides a focused time of community in Christ that everyone is welcome to take part in.

The FCA leaders are greatly invested in the mission of FCA, professing that “FCA has changed our lives in one way or another. By being leaders here at NNU, we are able to give back and influence others through Christ in our sport.” Considering the presence of loving friends, amazing worship and tasty snacks that FCA provides, what more could you ask for on a Monday night?
