An absurd evening of short comedies

Last Updated 14 October, 2015

Northwest Nazarene University is pleased to present “A Very Absurd Evening: Short Comedies by Eugene Ionesco and David Ives.” Directed by Krista Jo Miller, the performances will take place in Emerson Auditorium on Friday, October 16 at 7 p.m., and Saturday, October 17 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Admission is free.

In addition to Eugene Ionesco’s “The Bald Soprano,” three one-act plays will be performed from David Ives’ short comedy collection “All in the Timing:" “Sure Thing,” “The Universal Language” and “Philip Glass Buys a Loaf of Bread.” Through an awkward first meeting, a fraudulent language class, a re-acquaintance in a bakery and an odd dinner party, the audience will get to explore the relationship between language, communication, rhythm, music and time.
