Content Strategist/Manager

Description of Position

The Department of Marketing & Communications is seeking applicants to fill the Content Strategist/Manager position. This is an exempt, full-time, 12-month (1.0 FTE) position.
The Content Strategist / Manager understands that content is best when created strategically, developed for the most appropriate medium and delivered through the most effective channel(s). As such, this person continually seeks out new and existing content to support the strategic goals as defined by university and team leadership, and regularly measures results, pivoting and redistributing as needed.
The Content Strategist / Manager works collaboratively with the marketing team’s account service leads to strategize against goals, develop content calendars, audit existing content, determine content gaps, illuminate new and needed angles in order to leverage existing content, and report on the effectiveness of previously distributed content.
The Content Strategist / Manager understands the science behind storytelling, the power of words and excels at crafting stories that compel audiences to take action.
The Content Strategist / Manager meets regularly with the Marketing Technologies Director to review performance analytics, update strategies and evaluate new technologies to increase performance and effectiveness.
The Content Strategist / Manager has a keen understanding of the importance of brand and the value of clear and cohesive messaging. On occasion, there may be a need to educate colleagues in the science and art of content strategy and solicit their assistance in content creation.

The salary will be determined by the educational background and experience of each applicant and will be discussed with individual candidates as they are invited to interview for this position.
